Mister Mulligan Air Race Legend

Mister Mulligan Air Race Legend Telling the story of Golden Age aviation and its impact on the aviation industry. He has over 10,000 flying hours and has flown over 230 types of aircraft.

In 1935, air racers and their aircraft were common household names, like NASCAR drivers today. Benny Howard and Gordon Israel built the Howard DGA6 known as Mister Mulligan specifically to win the Bendix race that year, and it went on to be the first airplane ever to win both the Bendix and Thompson Trophies in the same year. Sadly, the original “Mister Mulligan” crashed in 1936 and was destroyed,

but in the late 1970s, Jim and Bob Younkin built the most faithful replica ever, the Mister Mulligan you see before you today! Doug Rozendaal now brings Mister Mulligan to airshows around the country to tell the story of Golden Age aviation and its impact on the aviation industry. Doug is a 30+ year airshow performer flying numerous WWII fighters, bombers, and transport aircraft.
