Being situated in predominately industrial section of the city and having hundreds of hardware customers that needed a way to carry their tools it was a natural transition to open a store that sold just that. Tool Boxes and make them readily available so the contractors didn't have to wait. The customer would be able to see the boxes, choose one and have it installed all in one visit. The truck toolbox inventory soon expanded to include Job boxes, Van equipment, cargo racks etc. By 1997 we were packed to the ceiling with inventory, hoping to have just what the customer wanted, when he wanted it. Fortunately the hardware store was about to expand again about a block away, leaving the perfect home for Bill's Ace Truckbox. The building was not only large enough to accommodate the growing business and enormous inventory, but also easily accessible for any type of vehicle or fleet of vehicles. We were now able to boast the largest “in stock” inventory of Weatherguard and Knaack on the West Coast, as well as all of the most popular and specialty brands in the industry.
