A wise man once said that a bad day of racing is better than a good day at work !
In the way of bad days it went pretty good. LOL
The Density Altitude was around 2500’ to 2800’, so not great. It was hot. There were lots of stoppages and cleanups. The car did EXCELLENT as always. No complaints. The crew at 131 Motorsports park did a great job of keeping the track cleaned and prepped.
We had two passes. The first one was a pitiful burnout……I know that because my wife told me it was a pitiful burnout. lol. The 60’ time reflected that. Everything else was about average. We ran a 10.096 @ 131, which is a little low on mph
The second pass we did a good burnout as the photos show, but in the process of coming out of the burn box I flipped the switch for the line lock and broke the toggle off flush. So that’s cool. Guess this is our last pass so let’s make it count. LOL.
SLIGHTLY BETTER 60’ of 1.37, but still not great compared to our best of 1.32. Slightly better 1/8 mile at 6.36, and we finished with a 10.1002 at a lower mph at 128 mph. I tried shifting 500 rpm higher hoping the bigger intake would let the engine RPM, but it didn’t.
So in the way of things to break……it’s preferred over the other options, for sure.
So we will live to race another day.
Mid Michigan motorplex June 27th. Test and tune.
One toggle switch, coming right up!
