Saturday we went up to Mid Michigan Motorplex for a day of racing at the Street tire shootout reunion. This race is always a great time hanging out with friends with lots of great competition!

They run this race twice a year, once in July and again in October. We made it all the way to the finals in the July race and came in runner up in one of the closest finals in street tire shootout 10.0 history.

This time we made it to the semi finals, down to 4 cars. I was racing a 1967 chevelle owned by our friend Justin. Again, it was a nail biter all the way to the stripe. Justin took the win with a 10.000 to our 10.009! THAT MY FRIENDS IS AN AUTOMOBILE RACE! Congratulations Justin on making it into the finals!

Than we put the timing back into the car and adjusted our launch RPM and shift point and went out to take advantage of the amazing cool dense air.

It paid off, we went out and ran a fastest pass with this combination of

1.31 60 ft
6.20 1/8 mile
9.84 quarter

All of those numbers are the best we’ve gotten out of this combination! All and all it was an amazing weekend at the Motorplex as always.

We look forward to next year, but for now we’re also looking forward to some rest and relaxation in the off season!

Thanks for following along. Keep reading and racing! From the Beg Borrow and Steel racing family.
