Team Spotlight: Meet Dale Mercure

We’re continuing our Technician Spotlight series here at Barron’s Auto Repair, and today we’re proud to introduce a true veteran of the industry, Dale Mercure.

Dale joined the Barron’s family 7 months ago, bringing an incredible 38 years of experience to the shop.

🧰 Professional Background

Dale is both ASE certified and State of Michigan Senior Master Certified. With nearly four decades in the industry, he has worked on all manufacturers and has earned a reputation for being able to fix just about anything.

His specialty says it all:
“Everything. If I can’t fix it, it can’t be fixed.”

Recently, Dale tackled an electrical nightmare that had been underwater, one of the toughest types of repairs a technician can face.

When you ask Dale what he enjoys most about working at Barron’s, the answer is simple:
“Everything. Family atmosphere. Free food.”

We’re grateful to have him on our team and appreciate the experience, work ethic, and positivity he brings every day.

🏡 About Dale

Originally from: Marquette
Moved to New York in 1987, then returned to the U.P. in 2017 to be closer to family.

Hobbies: Cooking, fishing, hunting, and going on side-by-side rides.

Family: Dale moved back to the U.P. because many family members were aging or passing away, including an aunt he lost while relocating.

Favorite local spots: Crossroads, Jezi’s, and Mama Mia’s.

Fun fact:
Dale met Carroll Shelby, built a lot of kit cars, and has restored many vehicles over the years.

Team Spotlight: Meet Cody Morris!

We’re continuing our Technician Spotlight series here at Barron’s Auto Repair, and today we’re excited to introduce Cody Morris, who joined the Barron’s family in December of 2024.

Cody brings about 15 years of experience to the shop, although he’ll tell you he’s been taking things apart his whole life. He is a Michigan Master State Certified Mechanic and almost ASE Master Certified.

Cody loves working on anything with a carburetor or anything built before 1999. He is always learning, always improving, and always excited to dive deeper into the world of vehicles. His experience includes carburetors, classic cars and all things Subaru.

One of the most challenging jobs he’s ever tackled was repairing damaged threads in an aluminum engine block where he had to install a helicoil in a tight and extremely difficult spot for a cylinder head bolt.

When you ask Cody what he enjoys most about working at Barron’s, the answer is simple.

“Honestly the best is the people I work with. I work with a good group of people. That and the owner lets us work on our projects and get involved in shop projects which is fun.”

We appreciate you too, Cody. Your skill, curiosity and creativity make you a perfect fit for our team.

🏡 About Cody

Cody hails from Wyoming, though he has lived everywhere from Washington State to Michigan.

He loves creating and building things, from mechanical projects to crafting cocktails. He is also big into aquariums and plants, and yes, he combines the two.

At home, Cody shares life with his lovely and sassy wife Molly, whom he married in 2025. They have a Boston Terrier named Dodge, who keeps things interesting, along with several fish tanks filled with freshwater shrimp.

His favorite local spots are by the lake picking rocks with friends or downtown during festivals.

Fun fact: Cody can say the alphabet backwards really fast.

Team Spotlight: Meet Brandon Fenton!

We are incredibly thankful for our team here at Barron’s Auto Repair, and we wanted to start showcasing a few of the amazing technicians who keep this place running. We’re kicking off our spotlight series with Brandon Lee Fenton.

Brandon has been part of the Barron’s family for a little over a year, bringing 10 years of hands-on experience and a passion for exhaust work to the shop. He’s a jack of all trades who can handle just about anything that rolls through our doors.

Recently, he tackled one of his most challenging jobs yet, replacing manifolds and head gaskets on a 1991 Chevy 3500 and absolutely crushed it. Whether it’s diagnostics, exhaust, or the heavy lifting, Brandon brings skill and pride to every repair.

Outside the shop, you’ll find him building war dioramas, working on creative projects, or catching some motocross action.

Fun fact: Brandon is also a volunteer firefighter and graduated fire school in 2022. 👨‍🚒

What does he love most about working at Barron’s?

“The coworkers and the great working environment.” 🙌
