Precision Motor Werks opened in 1986 as a premier automotive machine shop performing engine machining and rebuilding. In 1994 we expanded into Dynanometer testing and added Racing Engines to our list of specialties. Expanding into auto repair early on and increasing our crew number, we now have 4 full-time outstanding technicians and 7 service bays. Our facility has expanded in segments and what w

as once Barnard Street Motors alongside Precision Motor Werks has solely become Precision Motor Werks. We replaced the engine dynanometer with two more service bays in order to maintain the increasing demand in service. We have constantly kept up with the ever-changing technology of automobiles with regular schooling and investments in the latest equipment required for making the most accurate diagnosis and precise repairs.

If you are thinking of purchasing a used vehicle from a private party or car lot, we highly recommend a pre-purchase inspection. Our technicians will give the vehicle a comprehensive check over, including a computer scan, which will give you an idea of the condition the vehicle you are purchasing is in. It’s not uncommon to find underlying problems, and in some cases, you may be better off not making the purchase to begin with.

This week, owner Kent Jones and friend Jeff Gault will be participating in the 2026 Copperstate 1000 rally. Similar to the Mille Miglia in Italy, the Copperstate takes drivers through Arizona, California, and Nevada. Jones and Gault will be driving the same car as they did in the Millie Miglia, a 1953 Lincoln Capri. All sports, racing, and grand touring cars up to and including 1973 are eligible for this rally.
