Eds Collision had a visit from WCCO this afternoon! Reporter Jonah Kaplan came to talk to one of the owners of Eds Jake Moser. As we all know we have had lots of snow accumulation these past few days in the Twin Cities. Many accidents due to snow and ice.

Tune in at 6 pm when they will be going over in a more detailed manner what it takes a body shop to get cars in and out safely. As Jonah mentioned, we all drive computers. Taking parts off and putting them back on is much more of a task than it ever has been.

We are excited for the opportunity to get knowledge that may not be commonly known about the body world out to the public.

Eds Collision Center 1 Maple Grove had the honor of hosting an Extrication event at our shop Tuesday September 30th. We partnered with the National Auto Body Council and Farmers to put on this amazing opportunity. The crew from MacQueen came out and delivered one heck of a class. Farmers Insurance was able to provide us with the donated vehicles. A huge thank you to Enterprise as well for supplying the Electric Vehicle. The body world is ever changing, vehicles are evolving so fast. Not only do repair shops need to have the knowledge to repair them. First Responders need to have the knowledge how to safely get a passenger or multiple passengers out of them in the event where they are unable to themselves.

We are also honored to share we have a Volunteer Fire Fighter on our staff at Eds Collision. You will see him pictured below holding the large extraction tool.

This event couldn't have been made possible without the diligence and months of planning by our employee Daren. We appreciate you and all of your efforts on this.

Not sure what to look for on the road to determine available traction during this winter season? Here is a quick summary for you:

- Shiny = Bad. This typically means either ice or water.
- Shady spots can be deceptive since dry road ahead of them can lead to false senses of security.
- Dry snow actually offers some pretty good traction and is a lot better than the slushy stuff as slushy stuff typically acts like deep water.
