Reposting from July as to why we cap certain classes or drives. We will only take what we can most definitely get finished in 6 months time.
I would like to set everyone’s minds at ease and just try to clarify a few things about our school, our way of doing driver’s ed, and our passion.
Over my lifetime I’ve gotten that phone call five times that someone I have loved has passed away in a car crash. It never got easier and it will never.
When I got the opportunity to become an instructor six years ago, I didn’t exactly jump at the chance, but I knew it was what I was supposed to do. I had done many things in my life , including flying airplanes. I love/d rearing my children, I love my husband, I love my family, and I love my church and my God!
Drivers education to me, has never been about. “Let’s just get this done”. It’s become a lifestyle.
I know everyone has time constraints, I know everyone has things going on in their lives, I know everyone has struggles, and everyone has pressure on finances. We have done our best to make our school affordable, easy to navigate, interesting, safe, and yes, absolutely - Confident! Sometimes we don’t fit with everyone’s schedules, sometimes we don’t mesh with everyone’s lifestyles, sometimes we don’t have the ability to finish a student in a timeframe that a parent might wish for.
We are upfront about it, we do not lie to people, we do not tell you that we can get you through when we cannot, we are not those people.
What you will get when you take classes through Confident Driving Academy is honest, hard-working, “going to make it more difficult so that you’ll learn”, confidence building, patient, and so much more than drivers education.
I will never tell you that I can get you through in one week, one month, or even before your contract is up. I will not tell you things that will not be. Or cannot be. The state of Ohio does give us six months for our training agreements, and after that we have to jump through a lot of hoops, if you are not able to comply. As of today, I have never gone past an agreement of my own volition. We are blessed with wonderful instructors, a great church that is letting us use their facilities, and so many people backing us and praying for us.
It truly distresses me when I have parents or guardians that come to me and ask to be put to the front of the line because of their lack of prioritizing their children’s driving career. (and no, I’m not talking about the ones who have had struggles with getting their student into driver’s education or even into the car. That’s a different story. )I will not rush your child through our program. Our program is there to help to build their skills, to help them learn the balance and skill of the road, to try to help to keep them safe!
We only want the best for our students - your kids! So no, I will not rush, I will not hurry them through. We will take the time to guide them, and to hopefully build a better, safer generation of drivers than we have ever seen before.
