π¨ FORD DIESEL HEAD GASKET PROBLEMS? DONβT IGNORE THE SIGNS! π¨
If your Ford diesel is pushing coolant out of the degas bottle, overheating, building excessive cooling-system pressure, or losing coolant with no obvious external leak, you may have a head gasket problem.
Some common warning signs include:
π§ Coolant pushing out of the degas bottle
π§ Upper radiator hose getting rock-hard quickly
π§ Overheating under load or when accelerating
π§ Unexplained coolant loss
π§ White smoke or coolant consumption
π§ Cooling system pressure that remains high after sitting
π§ Misfire or rough running on startup
π§ Combustion gases entering the cooling system
β οΈ Donβt automatically assume itβs the EGR cooler, water pump, or thermostat. Proper testing is important before tearing into the engine.
At 911 Automotive & Diesel, we diagnose Ford diesel cooling-system and engine problems and can help determine whether youβre dealing with a head gasket, EGR cooler, cooling-system issue, or another failure.
