Black Friday rolled around early this year. We had a serious lineup on the lifts: a 427 COPO Camaro getting the aluminim engine sorted along with some performance upgrades, sitting right next to a Buick Grand National in for front-end suspension and steering work. Dorito rotary out, 6.0L LS in. 🛠️

LS swapping an RX-8 is not a "plug-and-play" job. Between wiring integration, tight engine bay packaging, custom drivetrain, cooling, and plumbing, it takes hours and hours of meticulous detail work to make an LS V8 fit where a Wankel once lived. Here's Jake doing some of the wiring surgery! The Mazda is currently out getting some break-in miles. When that's done we'll be tuning it on the dyno.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR CLASSIC CAR OWNERS: "Leno's Law" is Officially Signed! 🚨California’s Governor signed Senate Bill 1392 ("Leno's Law"), giving long-overdue smog exemption relief to 1976–1985 model-year collector vehicles. Hats off to Jay Leno for the effort he put into this.

Even if you don't live in California, this is a massive win for the national car community:

Passed alongside SB 1069 (which speeds up state approval for aftermarket parts), this is a huge win for car restoration, custom fabrication, and small performance shops everywhere.

Setting a National Precedent: SEMA helped push this bipartisan effort across the line. California often sets the benchmark for vehicle regulations. California passing sensible, collector-friendly exemptions gives motorheads nationwide a blueprint to fight for similar car-culture protections in their own states.

Jay brought his monster Jeep rock crawler into the shop with a cracked header—a classic sign of a rig that is actually doing some flexing.

Not really your standard bolt on. We had to lift the entire body off the frame to get the clearance needed to install the new headers, exhaust and weld in a flexible bellows. Bellows are essential on a build like this to absorb engine movement and frame flex so it won't crack again when Jay is twisted up on the rocks.

She’s all buttoned up, leak-free, and ready to take on the tough lines again. 🔥🛠️
