Charleston has easily been one of the most welcoming places we’ve had the privilege to work in. From day one, the city staff treated us less like contractors and more like old friends who just happened to show up with boats and equipment. The atmosphere here is something special — the kind of place that makes you want to come back even when you’re not on the clock. And trust me… we’ll definitely be back for the Sternwheel Regatta.

A huge thank you to Ben, the City Manager, for all the help and support throughout the project. Fire Chief Matt deserves special recognition as well — not only for his hospitality, but for giving me one of the best boat rides I’ve ever experienced (and I’ve been on a few that rattled my fillings loose). And Linda from Hagy’s made sure my crew got to enjoy a well-earned night out and some local hospitality that won’t soon be forgotten.

Most importantly, I want to recognize my incredible crew. These men and women continue to impress me with their hard work, professionalism, and ability to tackle every challenge thrown our way — usually with sarcasm, caffeine, and very questionable music choices. Projects like this don’t succeed because of one person; they succeed because of a team willing to give it their all every single day.
Without a doubt, this one goes in the books as one of the best jobs we’ve had so far.
Now… on to the next adventure and the next challenge.

Had the privilege of checking out the City of Charleston’s new fire rescue vessel today… and wow, this thing is an absolute beast. Chief Matt gave us the grand tour, and those twin 350 HP Yamahas paired with dual pumps that shoot water halfway to the next county are seriously impressive. Meanwhile, if you look closely in the background, you’ll spot the Dutchman crew with three faces mashed against the glass like kids outside a candy store. Safe to say the boat envy is hitting hard. 🚤🔥😂
American Muscle Docks & Fabrication… can y’all please build me one?! I don’t need the fire pumps — but I do need the ability to make a dramatic entrance at a marina. 😎
