Blue Monster Body and Paint

Most of the inside is buttoned up. Bedliner is done. Still waiting on Sign Crafters to let me know when the decals will be installed. (I loathe dealing with unfamiliar vendors) I will get as much put back together as I can. Once the decals are installed it wont take long to finish it, then its off to Brazofsky Upholstery for some interior goodness.

A update on the Scout. Windshield with new gasket is installed. Windshield wiper motor, arms and wipers are installed along with the underhood cowl access panel (after painting inside the cowl) with new black hardware. Custom rock slider/door steps are welded in after welding brackets to them and bedlining them. Front end grille area was prepped and painted and the winch bumper was bedlined. Checked in with Sign Crafters and they said installation of the vinyl graphics should be next week. (Keyword: "should") Next step is prepping the inside cab area floor for bedliner.

The decals for the Scout were suppose to be satin or matte finish. They came glossy black, which isnt going to match all of the trim black Ive painted on it so far. So I blasted up to Salem and had a very pleasant meeting with Sign Crafters on McGilchrist. They are going to make all new high quality decals for it in a matte finish AND send a guy down to install them. They were very helpful and so far Im impressed with their service.

Back of the Scout is pretty much wrapped up. Bedlined the bumper, new blacked out lights and new emblem. Got the new wing window gaskets in after I painted the frames.

Well, its a start. The tailgate latch button is the very first part put back on after paint.

Had some stainless welded up today. Dustin let me try out his new TIG welder. Yes, thats the pulling tractor I painted in the background. Got some more paint to do on it because body parts are being made as the tractor is being built. Cant wait to see this beast pull.

Not too bad for a lighter color. 3 coats of clear, wet sanded and 3 more coats.

First big show of the season and the Blue Monster jobs showed up in force.
