It’s raining today, which means it’s the perfect time to find out if your wiper blades are still blades, or just decorative windshield jewelry.

Today only, we’re doing $10 off wiper blades with installation.

Because guessing where the road is shouldn’t be part of your morning commute, and meeting Jesus through a guardrail seems a little dramatic.

Get your wipers handled while the weather is doing free quality control.

A recharge is not an AC repair if the system is leaking.

That is the part customers need to understand.

You can pay for refrigerant today and have cold air for a little while, but if the leak is still there, that refrigerant is leaving again.

Then you pay again.

Then again.

Then eventually, the system may have bigger problems than it started with.

I believe shops do customers a disservice when they keep pumping refrigerant into a leaking automotive AC system without actually trying to find the leak.

That is why we charge to diagnose AC leaks properly.

Because the goal is not to sell you cold air for a few days.

The goal is to find out why your AC stopped working in the first place.

If you have ever paid for an AC recharge and the cold air disappeared again, comment “leak” below.

And if you know somebody who keeps saying, “I just need more freon,” share this with them before they spend money twice.

AC leaks do not fix themselves.
On this 2014 Chevrolet pickup, we tracked down a condenser leak using Big Blue leak detector solution and the Bacharach HT-10 refrigerant sniffer.
That is the difference between guessing and proving.
A weak AC system can come from a lot of places. Low refrigerant, a leaking condenser, damaged lines, bad seals, poor airflow, or electrical control issues. That is why we test before we quote and prove the failure before replacing parts.
Cold air starts with proper diagnostics.

This vehicle hasn’t had AC in two years, and it had an engine job done, so there’s no telling how long the AC system may have been open to the air.

That matters.

An AC system is supposed to stay sealed. When air gets in, moisture comes with it. Moisture inside an automotive AC system can freeze in tiny passages, reduce cooling performance, turn the refrigerant oil acidic, corrode parts from the inside, clog valves, damage the receiver drier, and eventually help take out an expensive compressor.

That micron gauge is not just a fancy tool. It tells us if the system is actually dry and stable before refrigerant goes back in.

Charging a wet AC system is like putting clean oil in an engine full of water and hoping for the best.

We test first. We do it right. We protect the system before we ask it to work.

Car won’t start? Starter clicking? Dead battery again?

A weak battery is not always just a weak battery. Sometimes the battery is bad. Sometimes the alternator is not charging. Sometimes there is a connection issue, corrosion, a starter problem, or another charging system fault causing the vehicle to leave you stranded.

In this video, we are replacing a battery, testing the battery, and checking alternator output to make sure the vehicle is actually charging like it should.

At Zoom Automotive, we do not like guessing. We test the battery, starter, charging system, alternator output, and electrical connections so you know what is actually causing the problem.

Common problems we help with:

Car will not start
Starter clicks but engine will not crank
Dead battery
Battery keeps dying
Battery light on
Alternator not charging
Slow crank
No start problem
Charging system warning light
Car dies after jump starting
Electrical starting problem

If your vehicle is giving you starting or charging problems in Lynchburg, VA, get it tested before throwing parts at it.

2001 Toyota Avalon in the shop for a timing belt and water pump replacement.
This is one of those jobs where doing it right matters. The timing belt keeps the engine mechanically in sync, and the water pump keeps the cooling system moving. When they are buried in the same area, replacing them together is smart maintenance, not upselling.
On an older Toyota like this, age matters just as much as mileage. Rubber breaks down. Seals age. Bearings wear. Coolant leaks start small before they become expensive.
At Zoom Automotive, we don’t just throw parts at a vehicle. We inspect, verify, and repair it the right way so the customer can keep driving with confidence.
Timing belt due? Coolant leak? Overheating? Unknown maintenance history?
