Elliott of Solitaire Homes took a hard look at the manufactured home industry in the 1960s and 70s he came to some profound conclusions.

1st There was nothing on the market then that compared to site built quality and yet was affordable. Most manufactured homes used chipped wood type sub floors, vinyl coated gypsum walls and a vinyl coated pressed board cabinets as well as molding. Manufactured

homes were built with every conceivable change available to the customer to overcome objections about the house and were furnished and decorated by professionals to catch the eye. This was convenient for the buyer, but again did nothing for value

Solitaire started with the strategy of doing more word of mouth advertising So Solitaire builds in runs of 15 to 20 homes which saves the customer money that can be used on quality materials like:
