Fun Fact Friday!

When Henry Ford was first developing the automobile's ignition system, he noticed that when each ignition coil reacted to their corresponding spark plug, it would create a buzzing noise. when Ford adjusted them properly, the buzzing noises sounded exactly the same. Now that it's mid-summer, temperatures are rising, and it's more important than ever to keep yourself and your passengers cool. It's a common myth that turning on the AC at maximum speed upon starting your car will cool it down quickly. However, if you follow these steps, your car will be cool in no time.
1. Roll down the windows down and start driving slowly, which will allow the hot air to escape.
2. Turn the AC on to the minimum setting. Once the air is cooler, turn on the recirculation button. This will keep the AC system from taking and will use the cool air already present inside the cabin.

On January 29, 1886, Carl Benz applied for a patent for his “vehicle powered by a gas engine.” This vehicle was known as the three-wheeled Benz Patent Motor Car, model no. 1. By 1893, the motor vehicle featured double-pivot steering, contra engine, and planetary gear transmission. It's amazing how much the automotive world has evolved in just a little over a century!

We've all experienced spilling something in our cars and staining the carpet. Fortunately, a solution can be found right in your own kitchen: baking soda.
Sprinkle the stained area with a generous amount of baking soda. Then, take a damp rag and cover the area. Leave it for at least 3 hours, and then vacuum the area. Repeat if necessary. Problem solved!

Here's a fun fact for this Friday!
In 1902, a woman named Mary Anderson invented a "window cleaning device" for automobiles, after riding a streetcar through New York City on a cold snowy day and noticing that the driver had to frequently exit the vehicle and clean off the windshield. A year later, the United States Patent Office awarded Anderson with Patent #743,801 for her invention, known today as the windshield wiper.
