Sometimes the biggest delay on a build isn’t turning wrenches…

This 2007 WRX STI came in for a complete overhaul:
🔧 EJ20X swap
🔧 Turbo rebuild
🔧 Dual AVCS deleted and converted
🔧 Fresh setup from front to back

Everything was ready to fire up… until we hit a problem.

The previous owner kept their Cobb Accessport without unmarried it from the ECU, leaving the factory ECU locked. That means we had to pull the ECU and send it out to be reset and loaded with a fresh base map before we can finish the job.

It’s one of those things that can add time and cost to a build, but it’s the right way to do it. Once the ECU is back, it’ll be time for first start, final checks, and tuning.

If you’re selling your Subaru and have an Accessport, always unpair it from the ECU before handing the car off. It’ll save the next owner a major headache.
