That is a wrap on the 2026 season. Thank you to everyone that put their trust in us to help you . We are lucky to have this gem in the stateline area. Luckier still we get to call this place work! Hope everyone has a great fall and winter. If you need any outdoor gear, including winter rentals, please visit Rocktown Adventures in downtown. See you next year!

Add some pep to your steps with hiking poles! Available at our downtown Rockford retail location now!

Do you like to hike but feel it is not active enough, or are you concerned about your balance? Meet the Tellurite 7075. These rugged aluminum alloy poles come with removable snow and hiking baskets, replaceable carbide tips, and replaceable rubber boot tips

With peak colors and mild temps, it is going to be a good weekend to take a hike. When you add poles to your hike, you are turning a lower body activity into a total body activity AND burning an additional 200 calories over an hour of hiking. More importantly, poles add another balance point, increasing safety. They are like 4WD for your knees! Stop by to see how they can help you Head Out!

Outside is the best medicine!

Today is World Mental Health Day. Consider spending time outdoors at an Illinois state park. Whether it's a quiet walk through the woods, time by the water, or simply sitting and observing nature, our state parks offer spaces to disconnect and recharge. Find a park near you and take a moment for yourself today. https://dnr.illinois.gov/parks.html

The penultimate weekend for the Lone Rock Cafe for the 2026 season is this weekend. We do have a full menu but we are not restocking so once we are out of an item we are out. Weather looks great for a weekend at Rock Cut!

To paraphrase Bob Dylan, The Leaves They Are A-Changing! Splashes of color are sprouting throughout the park. Should make for some good colors this weekend! Temps this weekend will help you Head Out! Mid 70s.
