Beautiful E30 in for the Cincy Security and Sound Treatment!
The start of any great audio system is the source.
Older vehicles won’t always accept today’s larger radios, so the client actually provided a radio/hvac bezel from a right hand drive vehicle, so we could integrate the Pioneer Flip Out 7” CarPlay receiver.
This modification allows for the radio to flip out without anything in its way, and places the screen in a more desirable location.
Next up, we need great amplification and processing. The Match UP6 DSP and Match UP1FX handle this perfectly.
The compact yet powerful amplifiers allow for great top down sound experience, and are compact enough to be able to physically fit in the original amplifier location.
We chose to build an amplifier rack that looked to be from the 90’s, giving an integrated, period correct look that still allows for easy serviceability.
Lastly, the helix conductor was grafted into the center console in a custom “M” themed mount. This allows the client to switch between audio calibrations and easily control subwoofer level. We actually made custom tunes, one for the top up and one for the top down. The acoustical response of the vehicle changes drastically when the top is up or down, so custom DSP calibrations were made for each scenario.
Now that the source unit and amplification are handled, time for great speakers.
Morel MT450 tweeters in the OEM sail panel.
Morel Elate Carbon MW5 in the original kick panel location.
Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 4” rear speakers.
Custom adapters were fabricated to adapt all the new speakers into the original locations.
A pair of 8” Audiomobile subwoofers handle subwoofer duty, in a custom ported enclosure.
Lastly for convenience and security, we added the Compustar Pro T13 remote start and security system. Keeping his investment secure, with the convenience of remote starting (yes, we can safely integrate remote start into manual transmission vehicles) as well as proximity unlocking.
Now this vehicle has all the modern amenities and can be properly enjoyed.
