NBT -> NBTEVO Retrofit (The easy way!)

Step 1. Purchase an OABR adapter to allow flashing and patching of the headunit. The adapter is only installed during the flashing and patching process. It is removed once complete as the adapter causes audio output to no longer function. (Search term: Retrofit OABR coding Adapter cable for BMW NBT EVO ID5 ID6)

Step 2. Purchase a WiFi adapter to allow for wireless Apple CarPlay. (Search term: Antenna Bluetooth WiFi FAKRA Retrofit For BMW NBT EVO ID5 ID6)

Step 3. If you don't want to replace your screen, you will purchase an LVDS cable with a built-in voltage regulator. You will be limited to using an NBTEVO HW: 2.3 (2GB ram) if going this route. (Search term: VOLTAGE CONVERTER transformer CABLE FOR BMW F series NBT EVO CID)

Step 4. Purchase the NBTEVO headunit. As mentioned in step 3, a HW: 2.3 unit will be required if you choose to retain your current screen. If you opt to use a newer screen, you are more than welcome to use a newer hardware version. Newer hardware versions have more ram (4GB) and support touch screen.

Step 5. Reach out to us to get your headunit flashed, patched, and coded to suit your car and enable OEM Apple CarPlay.

Notes:
- All HW: 2.3 will require flashing as they will be going from ID4 -> ID6.
- The newer hardware versions will only require flashing if their software version is older than NBTEVO_N (this is to support full screen CarPlay).
- Patching and coding will require an ENET cable and laptop that can run windows.
- Flashing will require a car battery charger that can output at least 10 amps. ID4 -> ID6 flashes will take approximately 45-60 minutes for HW: 2.3 units. Flashes for the newer hardware versions will take approximately 35 minutes.
- Doing the retrofit with this method results in the loss of OEM navigation functionality. However, this is irrelevant for most people doing the retrofit as CarPlay maps will work perfectly fine.

We are now offering HDD repair and upgrade service for NBTEVO. This service will replace your faulty HDD with an SSD and restore proper operation of your headunit.

Symptoms of a failed HDD include a clicking noise coming from the headunit, navigation failing to load (stuck on "Starting navigation system"), Bluetooth devices failing to connect, AUX not working, and possible loss of music from your saved library.

Additionally, it can be paired with the fault code B7F853 - HU-H: Internal control unit fault (hard disk). The HDD can fail due to age or more commonly after spraying a cleaner in the vents. It drips down onto the headunit and destroys the HDD.

The service has a turnaround time of 1 day. You will need to send us your unit for repair. The cost of the service will be $190 + shipping.

This is a repair service for BMW E36 with a faulty airbag module. When the vehicle is scanned, the codes listed above will be stored and you are unable to clear the error memory.

This error code can be caused by incorrect coding of the module, a crash, or something physically wrong with one of the airbag circuits. The module will be tested on bench to ensure the fault code goes away. If the physical issue is still present in your car, the fault may return. Fault codes should be cleared with a scan tool once the module is plugged in.

As this is a mail-in service, it will require you to ship the airbag module to me. The shipping cost for that is to be covered by you. The return shipping is paid for when purchasing this item. Once purchased, I will send you a message with the address to ship to.

The vehicle will still be drivable with the airbag module removed but we don't recommend it.

****IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW****
After plugging the module in for the first time, unplug anything from the OBD port, lock the car, and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. If this skip is stepped, there is data conflict and the cluster acts very weird.
If your car is a 2012 or 2013, it may require updating of the FEM and EGS to work properly. We can assist with that remotely for a fee.

Spent the day at knocking out some cool projects. As we all know, wagons are the best.
- E46 M3 treated with rear O2 and SAP delete
- Coded manual swap on this nicely put together E39 540i Wagon
- Coded manual swap on the E46 wagon

As much as we try to keep things smooth, E39s love to challenge us. We went from losing communication to then losing the fuel pump after the first start and finished it off with losing the ability to crank. Turned out to be a mixture of blown fuses, corroded connections, and loose connections.
