Just finished replacing the valve cover on 2011 BMW 328i! 🛠️
If you’ve got oil leaks, a burning oil smell, or rough idling—this might be your culprit. Common issue on these N52 engines!

Tips from the job:
✔️ Take your time removing old gaskets—clean surfaces are key
✔️ Torque the bolts in the right sequence (start from the center out)
✔️ Don’t forget to replace the spark plug tube seals and valve cover bolts if needed

It’s a bit of a project, but totally doable if you’re patient and have the right tools. 💪

Kia Forte 2019, timing error code. Removing valve cover to check for timing marks. Chain is moved from its position, so we need to fix it. Removing engine mount, side cover, oil pan. After getting access remove exhaust sprocket fix broken pin, or replace whole sprocket, set timing chain and put all back together.

Timing Chain Replacement - BMW 2013 328i (N20 Engine)

Successfully completed a timing chain, guide, and tensioner replacement on 2013 BMW 328i with the N20 engine. The job required engine removal since the guide parts had broken off and were stuck in the oil suction pipe.

It was a challenging but rewarding, and I’m glad to get it done. A great reminder to stay proactive with BMW N20/N26 timing chain issues since they’re a common weak spot on these engines.
