Yesterday I replaced the rear tire seal and TPM valve, I found out why after 7 years the front tire started to leak as air pockets developed around the spokes. Man was it a bit more difficult than the rear 17 inch wheel was! I’m glad I have a 19inch front wheel and not the narrower 20/21 like newer bikes have. It’s such a tight fit that using my roller tool didn’t work and I had to use my thumbs to seal the rubber in the gutters. I wouldn’t recommend this to a maintenance novice because it’s a tedious task to get right with out having to redo later if the seal doesn’t hold. Just scheduled an appointment with the dealer to have both activated next weekend, hope they last 6+ years like my old one did. Using a blow dryer on the outside of the rim when air pressure is installed will help heat seal and mold the rubber gaskets. It really works!
