Longview Truck Center could not be more excited about our company growing into one of the best Truck and Trailer Rental Companies in the nation. There are a lot of moving parts in our day to day routine to keep us striving to be the best. Our Service Department (BUFKIN TRUCK SERVICE)is one of the most important moving parts we rely on for not only for our rental equipment but sales units as well. Mechanics Needed:
Requirements
1. Basic tools. (The shop will provide “Specialty Tools” as defined by the shop manager.)
2. Fundamental knowledge of Diesel engines and drive trains as pertains to Class A vehicles
3. Fundamental knowledge of air brake systems
4. Mechanical aptitude (As defined by the shop manager.)
5. Fundamental knowledge of electrical and electronic systems as pertains to Class A vehicles
6. Ability to operate and or learn to operate diagnostic software
7. Fundamental knowledge of modern after-treatment systems
8. Ability to read and fill out digital work requests.
Sought after but not Required
1. CDL
2. DOT inspector license
3. Comprehensive knowledge of DEF, DPF, and SCR systems
4. Comprehensive skills with Detroit, Cummins, Paccar, and Mack engines software and systems
5. Comprehensive knowledge of A/C system
This is a fast-paced shop. Our primary job is to facilitate the sales and rental side of Longview Truck Center while maintaining a constant and ever growing outside customer base. Mechanics must expect to drop everything on a job and move to another as demand requires. Mechanics must also be willing and capable of learning and applying a wide variety of skills to tasks from rebuilding an engine, to scraping DOT tape and re-flooring trailers.
