DID YOUR TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COME ON THIS MORNING? YOU'RE NOT ALONE!
🥶 Boulder just experienced its first overnight freeze of the season, and those little yellow tire pressure warning lights are lighting up dashboards all over town!
Why is this happening?
🌡️ Cold weather lowers tire pressure! For every 10°F drop in temperature, tire pressure decreases approximately 1 PSI.
⚠️ Your TPMS is doing its job! Your Tire Pressure Monitoring System detects when tire pressure drops below a certain threshold and alerts you.
✅ The good news? It doesn't necessarily mean you have a flat tire, a leak, or a faulty sensor. Sometimes, it's simply the colder weather!
🔧 What should you do?
✔️ Check your tire pressures when your tires are cold.
✔️ Inflate them to the manufacturer's recommended pressure, usually found on the driver's door-jamb sticker.
✔️ If the light stays on or one tire continues losing pressure, have it inspected.

The Boulder and Longmont area just experienced its first overnight freeze, and our phones are already ringing with customers asking why their tire pressure warning lights suddenly came on!
Here's what's happening:
🌡️ Cold weather causes tire pressure to drop. For every 10°F decrease in temperature, your tires can lose approximately 1 PSI of pressure.
⚠️ Your tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) notices the change. If your tires were already close to the warning threshold, last night's freeze may have been enough to trigger that dashboard light.
✅ The good news? It doesn't necessarily mean you have a flat tire or a bad sensor!
What should you do?
Check your tire pressures when the tires are cold and inflate them to the manufacturer's recommended pressure, usually found on the driver's door-jamb sticker.
