The Lead Masks Case: A Chilling Unsolved Mystery
On the afternoon of August 20, 1966, a young boy flying a kite on Vintém Hill, near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, stumbled upon a scene that would baffle investigators for decades to come.
Lying side-by-side in the tall grass were the bodies of two men. There was no blood, no signs of a struggle, and nothing to indicate foul play. However, their attire was entirely out of place for a hike up a hill. Both men were dressed in sharp, formal suits covered by heavy, waterproof trench coats.
But it was what they were wearing on their faces that sent shivers down the spines of the local police.
Covering both men’s eyes were heavy, hand-cut lead masks—the exact kind used to protect against intense, blinding radiation. The crude masks had no eye holes. What were they trying to look at? Or rather, what terrifying flash of light were they desperately trying to protect their eyes from?
The deceased were identified as Manoel and Miguel, two local electronic technicians. Beside their bodies lay an empty water bottle, two towels, and a small, cryptic notebook. The entries inside that notebook transformed an ordinary death investigation into one of the most bizarre mysteries of the 20th century.
Written in Portuguese, the final entry read:
"16:30 - Be at the agreed place. 18:30 - Swallow capsules. After effect, protect metals, wait for mask signal."
What capsules did they swallow? Who, or what, were they waiting for?
Later investigations revealed that both men were deeply obsessed with UFOs, spiritism, and secret scientific experiments. They had recently spent a large sum of money on materials and told their families they were going to purchase a car and "gather materials for an experiment." Some theorists believe they were participating in a dangerous ritual to contact extraterrestrial life, while others suspect they were victims of a cruel, fatal scam.
Because their organs were not properly preserved at the morgue, toxicology reports could never confirm what the "capsules" actually contained.
More than half a century later, the Lead Masks Case remains entirely unsolved. The true nature of the "signal" they were waiting for on that lonely hill died with them, leaving behind a haunting legacy that continues to captivate the world.

သူတို့ ဘယ်သူ့ဆီက အချက်ပြမှုကို စောင့်နေခဲ့တာလဲ? သူတို့မျိုချခဲ့တဲ့ ဆေးတောင့်တွေက ဘာတွေလဲ?
