Max is a nine-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever whose primary responsibility is to chair the welcoming committee at the dealership where she grew up and, as an adorable puppy, reportedly loved to chew on car titles and customers checks. Max has become an integral part of the Bob McCormick Ford Team. Leading this group is Bob McCormick himself, who has been in the car business since attending P
enn State. He started in his father’s dealership in Lock Haven, progressed from sales into management at another business, and eventually bought a dealership in Hughesville. Then in September 2005, he purchased the Ford dealership in Lock Haven, his hometown, and decided to sell the Hughesville location so he could focus on his new endeavor. After twenty-six years as a Ford dealer, Bob still gets excited about going to work in the morning. “I just love it. I love coming to work every day, love working with people. I have a really good team-thirty-three employees and one sales dog!” he exclaims. Bob’s enthusiasm for selling cars and his love of people are evident in every facet of the business. Employees and customers alike are treated with a level of respect that is hard to find elsewhere. Being a hands-on kind of person, Bob says, “My philosophy is people don’t work for me, I work with them, and everyone is empowered to make a decision in my operation.” Customers have their voices heard at the dealership, which has won many customer satisfaction awards from Ford Motor Company. As Bob explains, “We promise you the best service anywhere. And we really do take care of our customers. As long my name is on the front of the building, I promise you are going to be happy.” The dealership sells new Fords and every make and model of used cars, in addition to offering complete service plus an accessory and parts department. It has something for everyone, but its most loyal sales representative hopes that you have something for her! According to Bob, Max’s favorite customers bring her treats. So stop by Bob McCormick Ford in Lock Haven to meet the friendly, helpful staff, and be sure to greet Max on your way in.
