In January of 1979, I told my then fiancé, now wife, Cindy, that I got a job selling cars. She was shocked! On February 3rd, 1979, I started my new career that lasted over 47 years. My first 15 years, I worked at Ed Schmid Ford in Ferndale. Early Eighties domestic car sales were not the best, but I continued working everyday regardless of the circumstances. 15 years at Ed Schmid, and not only did I have my wife, but also four young children ages 3 to 11 years old. During one of our tent sales, I met a very nice man by the name of Mike Schrieber who managed Bill Brown Ford in Livonia. Mike approached me with an offer to work for him at Bill Brown. He gave me his card so I could think about it, and I liked the idea of being closer to home.
In January of 1994, I called him and accepted his offer. Mike wanted me to start right away, but I told him I had to be fair to Mr. Schmid and give him a two week notice. I also explained that my 15 year anniversary is on February 3rd, and that’s the day I’d like to start at Bill Brown. Going to Bill Brown Ford was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The dealership was much bigger and they had a much larger inventory. Mike along with his staff welcomed me to my new home.
More than 32 years later, on Friday, May 29, 2026, I walked out of Bill Brown Ford for the last time as I began my retirement. It was a bittersweet farewell, but all good things must come to an end. I never had a bad day at Bill Brown Ford, and to say the least, it gave me an amazing career. I loved working there, and I loved taking care of my customers!! So much so, that I was #1 for 28 years out of the 32 I worked there, and at one time, #1 in the nation. I am forever grateful for the continuous support from my many customers over many years. It was a pleasure to work with them and help fulfill their transportation needs. I could never thank them enough. Even though I’ve retired, I will remain in touch with my customers so my partners can take care of them as I would. My 3 partners are Donna, Rob, and Chris. They will be happy to assist you in your future vehicle needs, and I will be there to help every step of the way. Just give me a call! (810) 355-6915
I am both happy and sad to leave Bill Brown Ford. I love the dealership, and I love what they stand for so they could be the #1 Ford dealership in the nation for many years to come.
As I start my retirement, I’ll be spending more time at my cottage with my wife, kids, and grandkids, plus fishing and hunting as much as I can! But, I will not be golfing because I’m the worst golfer this world has ever seen!!
God Bless all my customers, God Bless Bill Brown Ford, and God Bless America!
All the best,
Tony Juncaj (retired)
