There are plenty of scary things this time of year, but some are especially terrifying to car owners:

😱 The shopping cart rolling across the parking lot
😱 Hearing a *CRUNCH* when backing up
😱 Finding a brand-new door ding
😱 That tree branch hanging a little too close to your parking spot
😱 Walking out of the grocery store and wondering, *“Was that dent there before?”*

And perhaps the scariest of all...

🍂☀️ Fall Driving Tip: Watch That Low Sun! ☀️🍂

The cooler mornings might get most of the attention this time of year, but there’s another fall driving hazard that’s easy to overlook — sun glare.

As the sun sits lower in the sky, morning and evening drives can suddenly put bright sunlight directly in your line of sight.

A few simple things can help:
🕶️ Keep a pair of polarized sunglasses in the vehicle
🧽 Keep the inside AND outside of your windshield clean — streaks make glare worse
☀️ Use your sun visor before you need it
🚗 Leave a little extra following distance when visibility is poor

And remember, if you suddenly can’t see clearly, slow down rather than trying to drive through the glare at the same speed.

September is Bear Awareness Month in Montana, and if you’re heading out hiking, camping, fishing, or exploring the backcountry, remember that bears have an incredible sense of smell.

🍔 Don’t leave food or snacks in your vehicle
🥤 Take cups and food wrappers with you
🐶 Don’t forget pet food or treats
🗑️ Remove trash and anything else with a strong food scent

A closed car door isn’t necessarily going to stop a determined bear that thinks there’s a meal waiting inside. 🐻😬
