The Hudson Italia restoration continues to take shape. The aluminum body is now in epoxy, the restored Borrani wheels have returned from Italy, and we're carefully fitting and refining each piece of trim. Its the craftsmanship and attention to detail in these stages that make the difference in a high-level restoration.

What an incredible week with the Studebaker Avanti R3 at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d 'Elegance! While we didn't bring home an award, being part of such a prestigious event, seeing so many great friends, and having my alma mater, McPherson College photograph the yearly photo with the Avanti was a a special moment.
We also had the incredible opportunity to visit Jay Leno's collection and film a segment on the Avanti for his YouTube channel. To top it all off, the 1937 Dictator we restored was shown at the AACA Grand National meet in Allentown, PA and brought home its First Grand National. The 1955 Cadillac that we did extensive mechanical work to also won its First Grand National! A great way to wrap things up!

The Studebaker Avanti R3 has completed the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance in outstanding form! It performed flawlessly throughout the drive and drew an incredible, enthusiastic response from spectators along the route. A proud moment to see this rare piece of Studebaker history so well received.

Cornerstone is proud to have played a role in preparing this remarkable automobile for the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and Tour d'Elegance. As only the second post-war Studebaker ever accepted to Pebble Beach, its a truly significant milestone. The first of only 9 factory performance R3 Avanti's produced. Safe travels to California!

Drove the R3 Avanti 71 miles continuously today adding to the tally for another shake down before Pebble Beach. The car ran great from back road driving, 80mph on the highway, to even getting caught in a traffic jam for 20 minutes.

Check out the transformation Cornerstone did on these original magnesium Halibrand wheels for the Avanti R3.
Magnesium is unlike other metals as it oxidizes almost immediately and requires different steps in preparation. It is also hard to find places to polish magnesium as the dust is flammable!
