**Things Your Mechanic Wants You to Know: Fall Edition**

It's Friday, and we've got one last tip for y'all before we wrap up the week!

With cooler weather coming, it's a good time to throw a few extra things in your car. Nobody plans on breaking down or getting stuck somewhere, but it never hurts to be prepared.

Nothing crazy, just a few things that might make a bad situation a little easier.
A few things worth having:

- Jumper cables or a jump starter
- Flashlight
- Extra hoodie or blanket
- Phone charger
- Small first-aid kit
- Bottled water

We've enjoyed sharing a few tips with y'all this week and hope you've learned something along the way!

**Things Your Mechanic Wants You to Know: Fall Edition**

Not everything your car does means something is wrong, even though sometimes it sure seems that way!

A few things that are actually pretty normal:
-Water dripping under your car after running the A/C? Most likely just condensation.
-A little white v***r coming from the exhaust on a cold morning? Usually just moisture that goes away once the car warms up.
-Your car idling a little higher when you first crank it? That's pretty common, especially when it's chilly outside.

Of course, if something doesn't seem right or keeps happening, it's always better to have it checked out.

And don't ever feel silly asking about something! We'd rather you ask and find out it's nothing than ignore something that turns into a bigger problem.

Here's one we really wish more people knew!

If you notice your temperature gauge climbing toward hot, please don't keep driving to see if you can make it home.

We know nobody wants to pull over or have their car towed, but continuing to drive while it's overheating can turn a repair into a much bigger and more expensive problem.

If it starts running hot, pull over somewhere safe, shut the engine off, and let it cool down. And please don't try to take the radiator cap off while it's hot!

Trust us, we'd much rather help you fix a cooling system issue than have to tell you that your engine is damaged.

It’s been another busy week around here. We’ve had a little bit of everything going on, including knock sensors and valve cover gaskets on a Lexus RX300 and an air bag install on this Ram 1500.
