Be mindful of the wind and don’t start any fires for any reason until the wind dies down!!

Here’s the scoop for this afternoon and evening. Elevated Fire Danger doesn’t mean massive wildfires are already raging. What it does mean is that if a fire starts, it’s gonna move fast. Even something small, a little burn outside, a spark from your equipment, a tossed cigarette, or trailer chains dragging on the road, can ignite a grass fire that spreads quick in the wind. Keep your eyes open and stay safe out there. 𝗘𝗜𝗔𝗙𝟭𝟬

Please be mindful of the conditions and no burning

Unseasonably warm temperatures, very dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to an elevated fire risk over the next couple of days, with some critical risk possible for parts of the area Wednesday. Any outdoor burning should be avoided!

If you have some time to spare today please get out and stand safely along the route to show your support and honor Dave during this time of difficulty for the community and his family

Stay alert and no burning!!

A powerful storm system will bring a risk of severe storms late Friday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds (potentially widespread) is the main risk with isolated tornadoes a secondary risk. The storms will be moving at highway speeds so you will have less time to react than normal. Prior to the storms arrival, strong winds and warm temperatures will lead to an elevated fire danger Friday afternoon.

There is a critical to very high risk of fire spread today! Expect sunny skies, gusty southwest winds, and near-record highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s! With the gusty winds and dry conditions, any dry grass and brush fires that ignite will have the potential to spread out of control! Avoid burning today. Obey any burn bans in effect. Fully extinguish ci******es and dispose of them properly. Use extra caution with heavy equipment and while grilling or using a fire pit.
