Grab a glass of lemonade and sit a minute, because this is such a sweet story. Ya’ll know I like to post a back story with classic cars. Here we go… 😀
This beautiful 1971 Cadillac belongs to Randy, and its story goes all the way back to his childhood.
Randy’s Grandpa was a true Cadillac enthusiast and owned several over the years. One night, after Grandpa went to sleep, Grandpa’s son snuck out and took one of the Cadillacs up into the mountains of Hillsville, Virginia for a little “dirt-roading.” Now, I’m no genius, but I’m pretty sure Cadillacs weren’t engineered for “dirt -roading”. Well, that poor ole’ Cadillac didn’t survive the night and came limping back home in shambles as a total loss.
So what did Grandpa do? He simply went out and bought another Cadillac. But not just any Cadillac—he bought a shiny new gold one, the very car Randy admired growing up.
Unfortunately, Grandpa passed away the same year he bought that shiny new gold Cadillac, when Randy was only 8 years old. Even at that young age, Randy never forgot that car or the memories of his Grandpa.
As an adult now, Randy made it his mission to find a gold Cadillac just like the one his Grandpa had. And lo and behold, he found one! Same beautiful gold color and all. Randy didn’t hesitate—he bought it in honor of his Grandpa and has been bringing her back to life ever since.
Now she’s aligned up and getting ready for a trip down Route 66. What an awesome way to keep those memories rolling.
