Sad to hear about this successful stallion passing away so young. I did a mating to Early Voting his first year. Unfortunately the resulting foaling had a very sick baby that didn't make it, but it was a gorgeous big c**t. My condolences to Taylor Made, who raised his fee to $50,000

After a classic-winning racing career, Early Voting became a prominent freshman sire of 2026 despite struggling with fertility.

When I was a farm manager, our farm helped Stonewall Farm open up their farm. We had the opportunity to breed to Medaglia D'oro his second year of breeding that resulted in my second Keeneland win as a bloodstock agent. As reported by The BloodHorse, his son, Violence will leave the commercial market of breeding due to fertility issues. Both sires have left a lasting impact on the breed.

Interesting about these sires they hail from the El Prado line. El Prado was really the only successful son of Saddler's Wells sireline in American thoroughbred breeding. I asked the prominent stallion bloodstock agent, Dick Lawson once why El Prado by Saddler's Wells was able to make it in America. His response was El Prado could produce speed.

Medaglia d’Oro died Oct. 16 at 27 years old at Darley America’s Jonabell Farm.

The son of El Prado leaves 31 grade 1 winners and more than 100 graded stakes winners in a record that shaped pedigrees across the breed. Our condolences to all who knew and loved him.

I'm back in town this weekend as Keeneland continues to have the big race of the day in the Queen Elizabeth II race for the best 3 yr old Turf runners. Belmont will have a turf stake for the 3-year-old boys.

Last weekend saw possible BC runners in Evanescence, Classic Q and Lush Lips, American History and Coach Pope, and Rhetorical.

*Dress accordingly as weather will be a big factor today with Hurricane Isaias remnants passes through Lexington

Hopefully Mike will make changes for the better. The horsepeople/backside can use help. I know what it is like to train/hotwalk/groom and make ends meet.

The outspoken Thoroughbred owner wants to change horse racing. Now he has a financial stake in one of its most powerful companies.
