COOLANT COLOR IS IMPORTANT. From the factory, VW and Audi coolant is a bright pink or lilac color. It is called G13 and the previous version is G12

Each manufacturer has their own unique antifreeze color and it is important to maintain that consistency throughout the life of your vehicle. When a non-OEM or off-the-shelf mix all type of coolant is added, it can and WILL create problems in the long term.

When your VW or Audi coolant is topped off with something not meant for your vehicle, that liquid starts to chemically react in a manner that creates almost a loose jello. That thicker liquid is now traveling through your heater core, radiator, water pump, thermostat and all coolant hoses and pipes. NOT GOOD!

When coolant is a tad low, it is acceptable to add water to bring it up to proper level. If you notice a low coolant level, you may have a leak that needs to be addressed by a mechanic that knows Volkswagen and Audi. That’s us !

BREATHE BETTER! Our VW Jetta client was recently in the shop for a Check Engine Light, and we performed a courtesy inspection of the Cabin Air Filter. YIKES! This is what we found.

Your Volkswagen and Audi cabin air filter catches super small dust particles, tree debris, dirt and all sorts of things that otherwise will make it into the cabin of your vehicle. And into your nose.

Maintenance includes replacing filters in your German vehicle. If not replaced on a routine basis, they may also capture and grow mold and begin to smell musty. Nobody wants that ! ❌

BRAKE NOISE does not always lead to a Brake Light on the dash ‼️

The brake pads and discs on your VW and Audi vehicle have a very important job. To STOP! There is no set mileage for replacement of front brakes or rear brakes.

Sometimes you may get a brake warning light on the instrument cluster. Sometimes you may not. Consistent inspection of the front and rear brakes on your Volkswagen and Audi vehicle is critical. This can take place during an oil service or when your brakes become noticeably different.

It is important to “know” your vehicle and when something changes. Items like:

- Brakes are noisy
- Soft brake pedal
- Squealing or grinding brakes
- Vibration when braking
- Screeching when braking

Delaying brake replacement can cause damage to brake calipers, and that increases the cost of the repair. Don’t put it off!
