‘Why won’t my mower start? What’s wrong with it?’

A customer called and said his walk behind mower wouldn’t start, and asked if I’d take a look at it.

Turns out that his mower lived outside, and moisture had gotten into the fuel tank & carburetor.

This is what happens when water & gasoline sets in a cast aluminum carburetor for a long period of time….
Something that looks kinda like ‘cottage cheese!’

After disassembling, I used compressed air to remove the loose residue, then soaked in Berryman Chem-Dip, rinse & used guitar strings to clean orifices. Another blast of compressed air and installed new gaskets and seals.

Mower is now a “1-pull wonder” 😊
