With all respect and concern for those injured or suffering property and income loss from the Effingham tornados, this is an automotive page so I’ll also mourn the loss of the fantastic Corvette and VW museum at Mid America Motorworks. So many good cars and historic items lost or damaged. Founder Mike Yager was a spectacular host when we would stop there during Power Tour, and he lost the whole Corvette and VW business he built for 52 years.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mr. Takashi Komori, founder of FLAT4 Japan, on May 1, 2026. A true pioneer of the vintage Volkswagen world, Mr. Komori dedicated his life to preserving and promoting air-cooled VW culture through FLAT4’s restoration parts, events, and passion for authenticity. His influence reached enthusiasts around the globe and inspired generations of Volkswagen lovers. Beyond his achievements, he will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support of the VW community. He will be deeply missed by friends and enthusiasts worldwide.
