As of this afternoon (April 27) there are still funds available to any student who qualifies for the grant program.
Students & parents can apply for the grant at: https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/dmv/teen-driver/teen-sfty/degrant.aspx
As a reminder, the grant program is not to be used as a refund program. If the student/parent has made partial payments, a refund will not be issued in place of payment from the grant, and the grant will not cover the remaining balance. However, If a student paid for classroom but not behind the wheel, they may use the behind the wheel coupon only.
The Driver Education Grant program will launch on Monday, April 13th, at 9:00 AM.
Students and/or parents may visit the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Driver Education Grant Program to apply. https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/dmv/teen-driver/teen-sfty/degrant.aspx
Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch may apply to have their classroom and behind-the-wheel driver training for a Class D (Regular) driver license paid for through the Driver Education Grant Program.
Students with grants can enroll in any driver education program offered by an authorized driver education provider.
The tuition will be paid directly to the Driver Training school.
PLEASE NOTE: The grant program is not to be used as a refund program and will not cover paid or partially paid courses.
If you are looking to apply for a grant, please do not hesitate. Applications open up at 9 am on Monday, April 13. First-come, first-served.
The State will be offering over 5000 grants this quarter!
