Bring the young hunters and make a weekend out of it at Anacoco Lake Spillway RV Park & Grocery, only about 8 miles from Clear Creek WMA!

We’ll open at 5:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday so everyone can grab breakfast and supplies before heading out!

Congratulations to Skyler Broxson on catching this HUGE 64-pound flathead catfish and winning Louisiana Sportsman’s September Photo of the Month! Even better, this big beauty was released back into the lake to keep growing.

This photo of Skyler Broxson has won the September Photo of the Month contest! The Deridder angler caught this 64-pound flathead from Anacoco Lake in Leesville. The fish was later released back into the lake.

Vernon Lake will be lowered to about eight feet below pool stage. The control structure will be closed for refill during the first week of January 2027.
