Lake-Sumter State College has been awarded a $5.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration to support the development of the Eustis Education and Training Center, a regional workforce hub that will prepare students for high-demand careers as commercial drivers and electrical lineworkers.
This project on 8 acres donated by the City of Eustis, Florida will help address critical workforce shortages, strengthen economic growth, and create new opportunities for residents to learn locally, work locally, and build successful careers close to home.
We are deeply grateful for the leadership and support of Congressman Daniel Webster, State Senator Keith Truenow and State Representative Nan Cobb, whose advocacy helped make this a reality.
Together, we are building a stronger workforce, a stronger economy, and a brighter future for Eustis, Lake County, and Central Florida.
