🦘🚗 TGIF! HAPPY NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY! 🌎🐾

It’s Friday AND National Wildlife Day, so we’re sharing a pretty WILD Volkswagen fun fact! 😎

🦘 DID YOU KNOW?
Volkswagen developed a special “RooBadge” system to help reduce vehicle collisions with kangaroos in Australia! 🇦🇺

But how does it work? 🤔

The system uses vehicle-mounted sensors and detection technology to identify kangaroos near the vehicle and alert the driver when one is approaching the road. 🚨🦘 The goal is to give drivers more time to react and brake, helping protect both people and wildlife.

Because sometimes your biggest road hazard isn’t another car… it’s a kangaroo! 😂

🥥 Vintage Volkswagen Beetles and Buses used seat padding made from coconut husk fibers! 🌴

That’s right! Coconut husk fibers, also known as coir, were used as a natural cushioning material in some classic VW seats. Talk about going green before it was cool! 🌱😎
