Body Shop Tech Job Description

We are a high-volume used car dealership located in Leavenworth, KS, and we’re looking for a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our growing team. Approximately 90% of the body work we do is performed on vehicles that are being prepped for sale on our lot, not customer pay jobs. If you’re detail-oriented, reliable, and take pride in delivering high-quality work, we want to hear from you!

Job Overview

As an Auto Body Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing a wide range of body repairs on pre-owned vehicles that are being prepared for retail. You'll work alongside a dedicated team in a busy, clean, and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform repairs including sanding, grinding, filling, and priming panels
File, grind, and smooth repaired surfaces using power and hand tools
Sand body areas for paint and mask parts to protect from overspray
Carry out standard welding and soldering tasks as needed
Replace panels and complete other structural/body component repairs
Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety protocols
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Previous experience as an Auto Body Technician Preferred
Must have tools needed to perform job duties
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and shop equipment
Ability to complete panel replacements and prep repairs for paint
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Dealership or high-volume shop experience is a plus
Valid Driver License
Physical Requirements

Loud work environment; must be able to tolerate noise
Regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach
Must be able to lift heavy parts and tools
