Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers
If you're craving a healthier twist on a classic burger, this oven-baked cabbage burger recipe is just what you need. It combines juicy, lean ground beef patties with roasted cabbage slices to replace traditional burger buns, offering a delicious low-carb and gluten-free alternative. This savory dish is not only keto-friendly but also packed with flavor, making it a hit with everyone in the family.
1 head of green cabbage, cut into 1-inch slices
1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
1/2 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup)
1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or Monterey Jack), divided
1/2 tsp salt and black pepper
1/2 tsp red chili pepper flakes
1 tsp grated garlic
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup chopped parsley
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange cabbage slices on a baking sheet and brush with oil. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Roast cabbage for 10 minutes to lightly cook it.
3. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic, green onion, parsley, chili flakes, half of the cheese, salt, and pepper. Form into four patties.
4. Remove cabbage from the oven. Spread tomato sauce on each slice, add cheese, then top with a beef patty. Sprinkle more cheese on top.
5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the cheese is melted. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
