I hope everyone has been doing good and surviving the heat. It’s been slam up hot!! I’ll tell ya that for free! Me and Jordan have been running the gauntlet of high ambient temperature problems. From A/C not blowing cold, fan clutches, transmission coolers you name it!
A lot of the issues revolve around lack of airflow. Folks, at a minimum you have a radiator, charge air cooler, A/C condenser and a transmission cooler. But there can also be power steering coolers, fuel coolers and a secondary radiator. Also don’t forget about that evaporator and if equipped your cabin air filter. Your engine fan has to pull air through all or most of these components (depending on year, make & model). So before you start reaching for the A/C in a can with the little fancy pants gauge on it, do some checking on your cooler cores.
My farmers and ranchers with the Cow Chow Wagons your trucks especially! Hot Shot rigs to daily drivers can all use a good cleaning. We use about 5-6 different air blowers to remove as much debris as possible. Then thoroughly flush with water hose (not the pressure washer). Sometimes coil cleaner is needed if there is oil buildup from leaking hoses or components.
