There will be NO entry fee. Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Cars and Rupp Roofing and Gutters Crown Vics will also be in action.

Saturday Night, June 13th, recap…

Hamilton Wins Exciting Modified Feature!

Matt Hamilton, arguably the best UMP modified driver ever to race at Lawrenceburg since the new configuration won the feature on Saturday night. That in itself was not that special, but how he did it was. He was challenged by multiple drivers, not something he is used to dealing with. He took the green flag from the 6th position. That also would make it tough for a driver to make their way to the front to fight for the win. Hamilton methodically made his way to the front. He raced up to second and followed Justin Clark, one of the few drivers to beat Matt this year. Hamilton paced with Clark and through some slower traffic was able to get underneath him and grab the top spot. Behind Hamilton and Clark, Ryan Thomas was working the low side of the speedway, and he was coming fast. Lawrenceburg is known to have the high line be the fast line. But on this night, the low line was working well. Thomas made a couple challenges for the lead and almost cleared Hamilton a couple different times. Hamilton was able to keep his momentum and maintain the lead and beat Thomas back to the checkered flag. It was Hamilton’s second win at Lawrenceburg and 7th win of the season across all tracks. Ryan Thomas was second, followed by Justin Clark, Ben Harmon and Pete Holt. Heat race winners were Holt, Nick Snell and Hamilton. The Diamond Heavy Haul Modifieds return to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday July 11th for the 15th running of The Merrill Downey Memorial, the final time this race will be run.

McCoy Uses Low Side to Grab Hornet Win!

Kevin McCoy slowly and surely, used the low side of the track, already shown to be fast in the modified feature to pick off cars lap after lap. He grabbed the lead from series point leader, Landon Ramirez, as it appeared Landon’s car was dealing with a mechanical issue near the end. McCoy held off a hard charging Preston Evans, who was coming off a series crash the week before which saw him transported to the hospital. McCoy held on for the win, Evans finished second, followed by Landon Ramirez, Lucas Walters, and Jack Pflum. Heat race winners were Pflum, Alex West, and McCoy. The Lawrence Motorsports Trailer Sales Hornets return to the track on Saturday, August 1st.

McRoberts Does it Again!

Will McRoberts picked up his third feature win of the year in the Impact Sports Pro Stocks class at Lawrenceburg. McRoberts usually has no trouble holding on for the win, especially once he grabs the lead. This night was a little different because it didn’t appear McRoberts had the fastest car. That seemed to belong to Jeremy Creech. He had been using the low line, just like others to make some time up. He grabbed the lead a couple times from McRoberts but McRoberts was able to sneak back around on the outside when the leaders encountered lapped traffic forcing Creech to have to change his racing line. The rest of the top was Don Grace, Ashton Cohee and Eli McRoberts. McRoberts donated the $100 to Autism Awareness in the Angel Donor Program presented by QuickPro Staffing. The Heat race winners were Grace, Cohee, and Joel Andrews. The Impact Sports Purestocks return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday, August 1st.
