Cool local history 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - The City of Laurinburg had the opportunity to reacquire the second motorized fire engine owned by the City, dating back to 1924. This truck was purchased by the Harvel family for $10 following its initial use and underwent restoration in the 1950s. Since then, it has been preserved at the Harvel's museum and, in recent years, at the Scotland County Museum. Chief McQueen initiated efforts to reacquire this truck a few years ago, with the goal of restoring it to its original condition. The time has finally come, and Mr. Bob Harvel has sold the truck back to the City for $10. Tonight, our members successfully relocated this piece of history to our new station, with the assistance of our local partner, Jackson Diesel. We will now undertake efforts to restore the 101 year old truck to its original condition, and it will be showcased at local functions, parades, funerals, and other events. Follow our journey as we bring history back to our department. We extend our gratitude to all parties involved in making this possible.

Jordan McQueen, Fire Chief
