Some exciting things going on over here. Haven’t had time to post much but we got a new machine! It paired with our custom tombstones and (24) delta vises means it is ready to rock production. The machine is a NHP5000. Videos to come!

HELP!!

Alright instamachinists, we are looking for some guidance on what everyone is running for coolant these days! We are currently using 929 by ChemArrow but at $1300 a barrel and a 1.85 refractometer multiplier, we are just flat blowing through it! We previously used Monroe Primecut but always had bacterial and smell problems. It was about $1000 a barrel plus lasted way longer and was a 1.2 refractometer multiplier.
We generate our own RO water as the water in Vegas is extremely hard(400ppm) so we have good water for the coolants.
-
-
What we are looking for and what our main use is:
-Soluble Coolant
-Low Maintenance(long sump and bacteria resistant)
-Primarily cut aluminum, but do cut steel, stainless, and titanium as well.
-High finishes in aluminum and taping friendly is an absolute.
-
Please let us know what you guys are using, cost per barrel and source if you are in the US. We would be swapping (6) machines when we commit so the quantity is of decent size.

This machine has served us very well and is still producing parts currently. It does have a lot of hours and has its quirks for an old machine.
-
Asking price is $50k, we will load it on your truck. If we get asking price I will personally come out for two days once the machine is installed and up and running get your company producing parts(plus travel expenses if not local.)

First time running some titanium 6AL-4V, needless to say I tore up some tooling! This project was with Kevin .mfg locally in Vegas. The material is so gummy, and was just cooking the coating off the end mills. Of course this was a rush job over the weekend so we didn’t have time to get in the right end mills. Luckily we had some 7fl 1/2” end mills that did the trick. Was definitely running way too much SFM to start which lead to cooking the coatings and the material sticking to the end mills and bye-bye! But the finished part came out great! Sometimes you have to do what it takes to get a job done! Can’t show the whole part but enjoy the inside finishes!

Slowly swapping our intake manifolds to the new machines had been a serious process but well worth it for the results. Being able to use the simultaneous multi axis for surface finishing is a game changer for surface finish quality and speed in these runners! These have always been programmed and run on our 97’ VF3 so running them on brand new machines is a real treat!
