WATERTOWN, S.D. — August 22, 2026 — The 2nd Annual
Olsen Custom Farms Clash at Casino, brought to race fans by FYE
Motorsports Promotions, delivered a memorable night of dirt-track racing Saturday at Casino Speedway, as six divisions battled around the storied oval known as “The Jungle.”
With ideal late-summer weather, a strong field of
competitors and exciting racing action in all six classes, the event provided fans with a full night of competition from the opening heat races through the final checkered flag.
The Tri-State Late Model Series headlined the program with
the 40-lap HH Mobile Home Service A Feature, while WISSOTA Street Stocks, Midwest Mods, Mods, Hornets and Super Stocks rounded out an action-packed six-division program.
Dumpert Dominates Tri-State Late Model Feature
Cory Dumpert established himself as the driver to beat from
the outset, winning Peterbilt of Sioux Falls Heat 1 before starting from the pole for the 40-lap feature.
Dumpert capitalized on the front-row starting position and
paced the field to the checkered flag, earning the headline victory at the second annual Clash at Casino.
Mike Stearns finished second, followed by Shane Edginton.
Cody Thompson turned in one of the feature's strongest drives, advancing from eighth on the starting grid to finish fourth. Charlie Olsen completed the top five.
Trevor Walsh, Dalton Magers, Joey Penning, Konner Sperle and
Chad Olsen completed the top 10.
Dumpert's performance was especially impressive considering
he also topped his qualifying group with a 13.515-second lap, the
fastest qualifying time recorded during the Late Model program.
Six Classes, Six Winners
The racing action was competitive throughout all six
divisions at “The Jungle.”
Landyn Randt captured the 20-lap $1,000 Watertown
Ford Chrysler WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, leading Dawson Zabel and Jake Smith to the finish. Randt lead all 20 laps of the caution-filled event, racing to his second win at Casino in 2026.
Joseph Thomas went wire-to-wire from the pole to win
the 25-lap $1,500 Sioux Valley Co-op WISSOTA Mod feature. Dave Cain and Ryan Gierke completed the podium. The win would not come easy for Thomas though, as Tony Konold lead early and Cain pressured Thomas heavily throughout the event for the top spot.
Levi Randt earned the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel
WISSOTA Street Stock victory, finishing ahead of Maria Broksieck and Jayden Bogh. Joe Martin started on the pole and lead the first half of the race until Randt took advantage in lapped traffic and assumed the top spot. While in traffic, Martin made contact with Randt, sending both cars spinning and cutting down Randt's left front tire. Levi went on to lead the final four laps with a flat left front and still pick up the $1,000 victory.
Dylan Kromschroeder scored the Dixon Oil Recycling
Inc. WISSOTA Super Stock win, with Dexton Koch and Trevor Nelson finishing second and third. Koch led Nelson for the majority of the 20-lap, $1,200 to win event until lapped traffic slowed Koch's progress a bit and allowed Kromschroeder to close in. Dylan was able to get to Kock's rear bumper on the final lap and made the winning move off the bottom of turns three and four to steal the victory and the finish line by just 0.083 seconds.
Christian Kast prevailed in the B&G Industries
WISSOTA Hornet feature, with Matthew Dittman and Adam VanDerostyne rounding out the top three. Dittman and VanDerostyne battled out front early in the 15-lapper, with Dittman leading the first half of the race trying to win this event for the second year in a row, but Kast, who started 4th, spoiled the party and raced by and drove off for the $500 victory.
Together with Dumpert's Tri-State Late Model victory, the
six feature winners represented six different trips to Asphalt Pros Victory Lane during an entertaining night at Casino Speedway.
Racing at “The Jungle”.
Known affectionately by competitors and fans as “The
Jungle,” Casino Speedway once again lived up to its reputation as the venue provided fast, competitive racing throughout the evening.
From the preliminary heats and Late Model qualifying
sessions to the B Feature and six A Features, the August 22 program featured plenty of side-by-side competition and drivers fighting for every position.
The Tri-State Late Model field was particularly strong, with
25 cars starting the A Feature. Dumpert, Stearns and Edginton set the pace at the front, while Thompson's charge from eighth to fourth highlighted the depth of competition behind the leaders.
Perfect Weather for the Clash
The second annual event was also blessed with favorable
weather conditions.
Watertown recorded an 80-degree high and 56-degree low
on August 22, with an average temperature of 68 degrees. No measurable precipitation was recorded, while average wind speed was 4.8 mph with a peak wind of 21 mph from the northwest.
Those conditions provided an excellent backdrop for a full
evening of dirt-track competition at “The Jungle.”
