These were taken about 2 weeks ago. My customer buys and sells equipment. I helped him get these 2 forklifts and bring them to the shop. With the help of my Dad, we got them running great, got the brakes working on both of them and fixed some other minor items. They both left the shop yesterday and Bill already sold and delivered the yellow one!

This is a Caterpillar D3 bulldozer. Some of the bolts started working loose that hold the sprocket sections on the final drive. These are special tapered bolts only available from Caterpillar. The previous mechanic used regular grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. The track chain sheared off the ends of the bolts. Fortunately, we were able to remove the broken bolts and repair the threads in the final drive. Finally, we replaced all the bolts on both final drives with the correct bolts from Caterpillar and torqued them to spec. If we couldn't fix it because the bolt holes in the final drive were bad, the customer would have had to buy a new final drive at a cost of $18,000!
