🚨 A/C Not Blowing Cold? Adding Refrigerant Is Usually NOT the Real Fix 🚨
One of the biggest misconceptions about automotive A/C systems is that refrigerant simply “runs low” over time. In reality, your vehicle’s A/C system is a sealed system, meaning it does NOT normally consume or burn refrigerant.
If your system is low on refrigerant, there is almost always an underlying issue that needs to be repaired first — most commonly a refrigerant leak. In many cases, the leak can be caused by worn seals, damaged lines, condensers, evaporators, or even a failing compressor.
A faulty compressor is one of the more common causes because when compressors begin to fail internally, they can damage seals and contaminate the entire system with metal debris. Simply adding refrigerant without diagnosing the root problem may only provide temporary cooling and can potentially lead to more expensive repairs later.
At Wheel Good Mobile Mechanics, we properly diagnose A/C issues instead of just “topping it off” and sending you on your way. Proper diagnosis helps prevent repeat failures, wasted refrigerant, and unnecessary costs.
If your A/C isn’t cooling properly, let us help identify the actual cause so it can be repaired correctly the first time. ❄️🚗
