Maryland’s “Plate Where You Live” enhanced enforcement began October 1. If you’ve been putting off switching your registration, now is a good time to get your questions answered.

🚨 Okay, guys—it was nice while it lasted, but Maryland is officially putting its foot down on out-of-state registrations!

Beginning October 1, 2026, Maryland will increase enforcement against residents whose vehicles are still registered out of state. After receiving an official notice, vehicle owners will have 60 days to register in Maryland.

Failure to comply may result in fines of $7 per day—up to $420 per vehicle—and additional enforcement will be applied if registration is still not corrected.

The rules are changing, but we’re still here to help! Contact Original Maryland Tag Services LLC, and we’ll help you get properly registered and in compliance.
