We’re starting to see more and more counterfeit auto parts showing up in the industry, and a lot of them are coming from online marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart and eBay.

The scary part?

Many of these parts are made to look identical to genuine manufacturer parts. The box looks right. The label looks right. Even the part number is copied.

But the part inside is cheaply made junk.

We’ve seen counterfeit parts cause:

• Engine misfires• Premature part failure• Poor performance• Repeat repairs that cost the customer even more money

Below are a couple examples of fake parts compared to genuine ones.

At Precision Auto Repair, we purchase our parts directly from reputable suppliers and manufacturer-approved distributors. That way we know the parts going into your vehicle are the real thing and something we can stand behind.

Sure, sometimes a part online might be $20 or $100’s of dollars cheaper, but if it fails or causes another issue, it can turn into hundreds or even thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs.
