Job Opening: In-Shop Mechanic (Light to Heavy-Duty)
Southern Iowa Towing & Recovery

Location: 2050 E Main St, Lamoni, IA 50140 (Conveniently located off Exit 4)

Southern Iowa Towing & Recovery is expanding its technical team and seeking an experienced, dedicated In-Shop Mechanic to perform repair and maintenance on a diverse range of vehicles, specializing in light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Core Responsibilities
The Mechanic will execute a full spectrum of mechanical repair and service tasks within our Full-Service Repair Facility:

Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues related to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and hydraulics on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and general automotive vehicles.

Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, including fluid services, comprehensive inspections, and adjustments.

Tire Service: Install, repair, and balance various tires, including truck, trailer, AG, and auto tires.

Documentation: Accurately document all maintenance and repair work performed.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as a Truck/Trailer Mechanic or Automotive Technician.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diverse mechanical systems.

Proficiency with standard shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and technology.

Relevant technical certifications (e.g., ASE) are a plus.

Physical capability to perform heavy manual tasks and stand for extended periods.

Valid driver's license (CDL is a significant advantage).
